Subject: Why it does not work?

Author: wener007, 2005-11-19 11:54:22
Hi all

I just installed lamip with apt-get from "RareWares", but it does not work and i dont understand why. Can somebody give me a hint for what i should look to fix?
Below is the bash-output.

Thanks, Werner

i will investigate...

Author: geekoe, 2005-11-21 17:04:34
WARNING: Error dlopen /usr/lib/lamip/libjack.so: /usr/lib/lamip/libjack.so: undefined symbol: JACK_Init
WARNING: Error dlopen /usr/lib/lamip/libinputac3.so: liba52.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

these lines contain 2 errors with your system installation...
1. something is wrong with your JACK installation... perhaps you haven't installed it, or something is missing...

2. you haven't installed liba52 (a52dec) (http://liba52.sourceforge.net/) or a link to /usr/lib/liba52.so.0 or similar is missing... you can test the plugin to which libs it is linked with
"ldd /usr/lib/lamip/libinputac3.so"

although these are 2 errors with the 2 plugins, lamip should start up normally... perhaps you have a try to play a file with "lamip -n FILE" ... and tell us if the error still occurs...

thanks for your effort in sending debug information!

regards
geekoe

To ciberfred:
I installed with apt-get from source from rarewares. Bash says "LAMIP-0.0.3rc3+20050917".
